Bring HOME the 5000 Orphans in Guatemala
Guatemala has passed bill 3217, effective 12/31/2007. Unfortunately, this bill was passed with many unknowns and vague information. 5000 orphans urges prospective adoptive parents to not move forward with a NEW case from Guatemala. In Process Cases - we hope to receive more information over the next several weeks that should clarify the laws.
Updates:

On December 11, 2007 a new law was passed in Guatemala. This is the Ortega bill. This eventually passed with a vague grandfather clause that requires in process cases to register with the not yet created Central Authority.
